KRASNOSHIOK NAMED ATLANTIC 10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PHILADELPHIA (2/29/04)- Senior Irina Krasnoshiok has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for the second time this season. The 6-5 center shot 65% (15-for-23) from the field and averaged 18.8 points per game in two Saint Joseph's wins. Krasnoshiok is currently second on the team in scoring (12.3 ppg.) and rebounding (5.3 rpg.).
In Sunday's 74-55 win over St. Bonaventure, Krasnoshiok scored 13 points on 6-for-12 shooting. She bettered that performance with a 23-point, six-rebound showing in SJU's 66-58 win over Rhode Island. The senior shot 9-for-11 from the field and was perfect from behind the arc (2-for-2) and from the line (3-for-3).
Krasnoshiok is currently 12th on the all-time scoring list with 1,139 points and 15th on the career rebounding list (505).
Saint Joseph's has wrapped up the second seed in the A-10 East with an 11-4 record. SJU is 17-9 overall and will host the Atlantic 10 Championships beginning on Friday, March 5.
