GRAFF SELECTED TO ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT FIRST TEAM
PHILADELPHIA (2/19/03)- Senior Stephanie Graff has been selected to the Academic All-District 2 First Team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) today. The senior forward was awarded Academic All-District 2 Second Team honors last season. She will move on to the Academic All-America ballot, to be announced on March 5.
Graff, who leads the Hawks in scoring (12.8), rebounding (7.3) and blocked shots (2.4), has a 3.72 GPA in elementary education. The Drexel Hill, Pa. native and Archbishop Prendergast graduate has been named to the both the SJU Athletic Director's and A-10 Commissioner's Honor rolls all seven semesters. She received the the Fr. Emory Ross award for academic excellence in 2002.
Graff was a Academic All-Atlantic 10 and Philadelphia Big 5 pick in 2002-03. She is the first Hawk to receive first team academic all-district honors since Susan Moran in 2001-02.
The Academic All-District 2 women's basketball first team included: Navy's Courtney Davidson, Penn State's Kelly Mazzante and Karen Hewitt and Beth Swink of St. Francis (Pa.). The all-district second team featured: Ashley Bush (Seton Hall), Jessica DePalo (Lehigh), Niamh Dwyer (Monmouth), Julie Sailer (Delaware), and Nicole Sinclair (Duquesne).
District 2 consists of all NCAA Division I colleges and universities in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The team is selected by the Dirstrict 2 members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
