MORAN EARNS RECORD EIGHTH A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR
PHILADELPHIA (02/24/02) - Senior Susan Moran was recognized as the Atlantic 10 Conference's women's basketball player of the week for the week ending on February 23. It is the eighth time this season that Moran has been honored, a new conference record. The previos A-10 mark for Player of the Week citations in a single year was seven by Duquesne's Korie Hlede in 1997-98 and SJU's Dale Hodges in both 198-89 and 1989-90.
Moran notched a pair of double-doubles with back-to-back 20+ scoring efforts as SJU posted wins over Massachusetts and La Salle to push its winning streak to four straight. She scored 21 points (11-11 FT) and corralled 10 boards against the Minutewomen and then tallied 28 points and matched a career-high with 16 rebounds against the Explorers. For the week she averaged 24.5 points and 13.0 rebounds.
