Homan and Logan Join St. Joseph’s Women’s Basketball Staff
PHILADELPHIA (5/25/01) Kerri Homan and Joe Logan have been
named assistant women's basketball coaches at St. Joseph's
University. The tandem join first-year Hawk head coach Cindy Anderson,
after serving on her staff at Loyola (Md.) College.
Logan, who graduated from Loyola in 1996 with a degree in history,
spent the past four seasons as an assistant at Loyola. He assisted with
on-court instruction, scouting, academic support, game-plan
preparation, film exchange, recruiting and travel coordination. He was
instrumental in working with the Greyhound frontcourt players and
helped guide the team to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
semifinals in three consecutive seasons. Prior to his stint a LC, he
served one season as an assistant men's basketball coach at
Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J.
A native of Philadelphia, Logan graduated from La Salle College High
School in 1992, lettering in basketball for three years.
Homan, a 1994 graduate of St. Joseph's University, spent the past two
seasons as a member of Anderson's staff at Loyola. She came to LC
after five seasons as an assistant coach at the College of William &
Mary in Williamsburg, Va. While at William & Mary, she was involved in
all aspects of on-the-floor coaching duties while concentrating her efforts
with the Tribe backcourt players.
An SJU grad, Homan (nee Nemeth) was a four-year letterwinner for the
Hawks. She was the Big Five's three-point shooting leader in 1991 and
earned the team's Most Improved Player award her sophomore season.
The Hawks reached the NCAA tournament during her senior season.
She was a teammate of Anderson's for two seasons and Anderson was
a graduate assistant coach at St. Joseph's during her junior season.
A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Homan was also a prep standout at St.
Peter's High School and earned Staten Island Player of the Year and
USA Today Honorable Mention All-America accolades her senior year.
