Cindy Griffin Individual Camp Update

June 1, 2009

PHILADELPHIA - Dear Saint Joseph's Camper,

Hello everyone! It is that time again to get ready to spend some time with the HAWKS on the beautiful campus of Notre Dame Academy! We are incredibly thankful for the wonderful hospitality that NDA has offered us this year; you will be impressed with their state of the art air conditioned facility and their generous undeniable warmth. They have shared every inch of their estate with us including their outdoor pool, both gymnasiums, and the cafeteria. Directions can be found www.ndapa.org.

We are finally at the two week mark, which means we are getting closer and closer to the moment where we TIP-OFF our 2009 camp experience. As usual you will be competing, learning and challenging one another to become the best basketball players possible. Whichever camp you are signed up for Session I, Session II or the Junior Hawk's Camps, your experience is our passion. We will work very hard to make sure you enjoy every moment. As usual, Saint Joseph's Women's basketball team and alumni will be on staff to encourage and teach all week. The following information should clear up any questions you may have regarding camp.

Registration/Check-in
Campers should arrive at Notre Dame Academy on Monday between 8:15 am and 8:45am. Our registration table will be set up in the Aimee Willard gymnasium located in the Harron Family Building to greet you and your daughter/son and answer any and all of your camp questions. Please enter this building from the side. There is a parking lot directly in front of this entrance. We will begin all activities promptly at 9:15am.

Check-out
Campers should be picked up from camp promptly at 3:00. There will be NO extended hours. Junior Hawk campers will be picked up at 11:45 sharp. There is no swimming after camp hours this year; however we will be scheduling swim periods for each age group throughout the week beginning MONDAY - so please bring stuff. This does NOT apply to our half day JUNIOR HAWK campers.

On Friday's we will celebrate "Hawk Championship Friday". On this day we will be having an award ceremony that will start in and around 2:15 - 2:30. For our Junior Hawk campers your ceremony will begin 11:15. There will be an autograph session and an opportunity to get pictures with your favorite mascot "THE HAWK". Sandy Dreger, our on-site professional photographer will again be available for that special shot. These pictures will be taken that day and mailed directly to your house once they are developed in a frame for you to share with your friends and family. The cost for this treasure will be 10.00 per picture. (Optional)

What to bring
Upon arrival, be dressed and ready for basketball competition: T-shirt, shorts, socks and sneakers. Please bring your swimsuit and SUN BLOCK & goggles; NDA's pool is an outside pool. There will be a certified life guard on duty at all times along with our staff. The girls will enjoy a half hour to forty five minutes swimming each day. (OPTIONAL) Again, this does NOT apply to our half day JUNIOR HAWK campers.

LUNCH
Campers have the option of bringing their own lunch or buying a lunch. Each day we will have a designated food of the day. The schedule is as follows:

Pizza Pie Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Orders will be taken in the morning.

"Hawk" Dog Tuesday
Orders will be taken in the morning.

Happy Hoagie Thursday
Orders will be taken in the morning.

Camp Bank/b>
Each camper will be able to leave money in the camp bank for purchase of drinks, snacks and lunches as well as T-shirts, Tank Tops, shorts, bags, and balls throughout the week. This will be available at the registration table. It is a simple added benefit for your child so that they do not need to carry any money with them at all throughout the week. It is a care free week.

In the past people have put in $15.00 - $20.00 for the week and if your child is a big spender, you can always add to it as the week progresses. Money not spent by campers will be refunded to you at the end of the camp week. DO NOT FORGET IT...
