Cornish, Ffrench and Pavlovskaya Earn Big 5 Women's Basketball Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's senior guards Ayahna Cornish and Whitney Ffrench and senior center Zoya Pavlovskaya earned Philadelphia Big 5 accolades Wednesday evening at the Big 5's annual postseason banquet. Cornish, the Hawks' leading scorer, was named to the All-Big 5 First Team, while Ffrench earned All-Big 5 Second Team honors and Pavlovskaya to the All-Academic Team.

A two-time co-captain, Cornish finished fourth in the Atlantic 10 and 89th nationally in scoring this past season, averaging 16.5 points per game. Her 546 points on the year are the seventh most in single-season history and she finished her collegiate career 12th all-time in scoring with 1,235 points. Selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team, the Philadelphia native helped the Hawks to the A-10 title game and the program's 21st postseason berth this past year. Cornish was also named to the A-10 All-Tournament Team and Courtyard Classic and Hawk Classic All-Tournament Teams.

The team's second leading scorer at 10.5 points per game, Ffrench posted a career-best season in her final year in Crimson and Gray. The New Minas, Nova Scotia native topped the team in assists with 92 and finished second in steals with 40. Ffrench also finished among the single-season leaders in SJU history making 154-of-200 free throws.

Posting a 3.6 grade-point-average, Pavlovskaya will graduate with a degree in international marketing.
