Saint Joseph's Game Notes
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
George Washington will look to remain perfect in the Atlantic 10 as the #9 Colonials put their 12-0 conference record on the line Friday. Having won 16 straight, including a perfect 11-0 at home this year, George Washington has proven to be the class of the A-10 this year, winning 10 of its 12 conference games by double figures. Under the direction of head coach Joe McKeown, the Colonials will look to junior point guard Kimberly Beck to run the show. A First Team All-A10 selection last year, Beck enters the game tops in the conference in assists (5.5 apg) and is averaging 11.6 points to go with it. Likely joining Beck in the backcourt is classmate Sarah-Jo Lawrence. An A-10 All-Championship Team honoree last year, Lawrence is second on GW in scoring this season, averaging 13.0 ppg. In the frontcourt, sophomore center Jessica Adair will anchor the Colonials with a team-best 13.3 ppg and 7.7 rpg. Having started all 25 games, senior swing player Kenan Cole (11.2 ppg) will likely start on one wing, while junior forward Whitney Allen (6.6 ppg) should earn the nod on the other wing.
THE SERIES
The Hawks and the Colonials meet for the 46th time come Friday with Saint Joseph's holding a slim 24-21 edge in the series. Despite putting up a 12-10 record on the road, the Hawks have dropped their last three contests to GW.
