McBryan Named to 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Second Team
Feb. 18, 2005 PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's junior Maura McBryan have been named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Teams Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). McBryan, a history major with a 3.87 grade point average, is currently third on Saint Joseph's in scoring with 8.3 points per game and ranks second in rebounding (5.5 a game). "Maura's is a hard-working, self-motivated individual who puts 100 percent into everything she does," said Saint Joseph's Head Coach Cindy Griffin. "It is nice to see a student-athlete get rewarded for all of her hard work on and off the court She is a great leader and role-model who brings so many intangibles to our program everyday." Earlier this season, McBryan was named to the Dead River Classic All-Tournament Team after helping the Hawks to the title game against Maine. A 6-0 junior forward from Narbeth, PA, McBryan is a five-time member of Saint Joseph's University Athletic Director's Honor Roll. She is the two-time recipient of the Chris DiJulia Award given to the most inspirational member of the SJU women's basketball team. She has also been named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll three times and earned the 2004 Dorie Leahy Award for the SJU student-athlete most displaying dedication and sportsmanship.
