Women's Basketball Set to Face Vanderbilt in NCAA Tournament

The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team will take on Vanderbilt in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, March 23. Tip-off is set for 11:05 a.m. at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut.

Take Five with Erin Shields

Sophomore guard Erin Shields of the women's basketball team shares her basketball origins as well as her thoughts on the toughest venue she's ever played in, and gives a little insight as to which member of her family will always have a spot on her team.

Team's returning leader in three pointers (38).

2011-12: Member of the Atlantic 10 and SJU Athletic Director's Honor Rolls...Recipient of the team's Reverend Emory Ross Award...Finished fifth in the Atlantic 10 in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6)...One of just six players to appear in all 33 games...Made five starts...Scored a season-high 16 points and added four assists at Maryland...Finished with 14 points and six rebounds at Villanova...Paced SJU with 14 points and had three assists and two steals at St. Bonaventure...Handed out four assists and scored 13 points in win at Xavier...Went 5-of-7 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range, for 13 points in win over Saint Francis...Scored 12 points, including 6-of-6 from the foul line, in win at Charlotte...Added 11 points and four assists at Temple...Scored 10 points in win at Lafayette...Had a season-best five assists versus Dartmouth and George Washington...Grabbed a season-best three steals against Saint Louis...Added a block to eight points versus Lehigh.
