LABOY FINISHES 76TH AT NCAA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

WATERLOO, IA (11/24/03) --Sophomore Andre Laboy, the first Hawk to qualify for the nationals since 2000, finished 76th in the field of 254 runners at the 2003 NCAA Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Northern Iowa. The Atlantic 10 Individual Champion and all-region harrier completed the 10k course in a time of 30:42.7.

Karl Savage was the last SJU runner to compete at the national championship, finishing 67th in 2000.

Colorado's Dathan Ritzenhein won the NCAA Championship by finishing with a time of 29:14.1, while Stanford (24 points) took the men's team title in convincing fashion, defeating second place Wisconsin by 150 points.
