PHILADELPHIA (10/07/02) - Saint Joseph's sent ten runners to compete locally this weekend at the La Salle Invitation on Belmont Plateau. The Hawks finished eighth overall. Freshman David Masse led the Crimson and Gray with a 26th place finish (26:51.51) on the 8K course. Junior Rich Cullin ran a 27:15.99 to place 38th overall in the field of 114 runners. In third for the Hawks was senior Rob Hewitt (57th, 27:51.41). Rounding out the top seven for SJU was freshman Andrew Berta (78th, 28:26.08), Greg Rosetti (92nd, 28:44.36), freshman Matt Petrocci (93rd, 28:47.50), and freshman Mark Collins (103rd, 29:23.64). SJU next competes on October 19 at the Lafayette Invitation.
