THREE FRESHMAN PROPEL HAWKS TO SWEEP OF DUQUESNE DUALS
PITTSBURGH, PA (09/07/02) - Three freshmen runners propelled the Saint Joseph's University men's cross country team to a sweep of the seven team field at the Duquesne Cross Country Duals on Saturday morning.

PITTSBURGH, PA (09/07/02) - Three freshmen runners propelled the Saint Joseph's University men's cross country team to a sweep of the seven team field at the Duquesne Cross Country Duals on Saturday morning.
Hawk newcomers Andre Laboy (21:50), Joe Mohn (21:52) and Mike DiDio (21:53) placed third, fourth and fifth overall to lead SJU to a perfect 6-0 mark on the day.
Senior Geoff Fahey placed seventh overall in a time of 22:02, finishing in a dead heat with sophomore Collin Martin, who came in eighth. Redshirt freshman Rich Anderson placed 13th overall (22:07) while seniors Matt Lewis (22:14) and Tim Fisher (22:23) placed 16th and 22nd, respectively.
As far as the team scoring went, SJU defeated Pittsburgh (15-49), host Duquesne (17-41), Wheeling Jesuit (25-36), St. Bonaventure (15-50), Carnegie Mellon (15-46) and Penn State-Altoona (15-50). Wheeling Jesuit's Rich Moore and Matt Abel placed one-two overall in the meet with times of 21:24 and 21:45, respectively.
The Hawks next compete at the Paul Short Invitational on September 28.
