ANDERSON NAMED ATLANTIC 10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK ::

PHILADELPHIA (09/03/02) - Saint Joseph's freshman runners Ann Regan (Springfield, Pa. / Springfield) and Rich Anderson (Media, Pa./ Cardinal O'Hara) kicked off their collegiate careers by earning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors announced September 3. Regan was the lead runner for the Hawks and placed second overall at the Maroon and Gold Invitational at Kutztown on Saturday with a time of 23:52. SJU was victorious at the meet with 22 points, defeating second-place Kutztown by 22 points. Anderson, a redshirt freshman, paced the men at Kutztown and finished third overall with a time of 27:24, helping the Hawks finish second behind host Kutztown. The race was his first collegiate cross country race after an injury plagued fall in 2001.
