Feb. 1, 2010

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Saint Joseph's men's cross country standout sophomore Kevin McDonnell (Moorestown, N.J./Camden Catholic) was one of the collegiate student-athletes recognized at the 106th Annual Dinner of the Philadelphia Sportswriters Association on Monday night.

This season, McDonnell earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference accolades after he took second place (26:13.9) at the Atlantic 10 Championship, helping the Hawks to their first A-10 Title since 2000.

He was the team's top-finisher in three of the five meets he competed in, finishing third of 109 runners at Cappy Anderson and 19th of 197 runners in the NCAA Regionals 10K race.

As a freshman McDonnell was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week three times.

The PSWA dinner is one of the largest of its kind and honors athletes and coaches from both amateur and professional sports.
