Men's Cross Country Places Seventh at Iona Meet of Champions

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's men's cross country squad earned seventh-place honors at the Iona Meet of Champions on Saturday morning. The 8K race, held in New Rochelle, NY, featured 172 runners and 20 teams. Graduate student Mike DiDio paced the Hawk harriers, earning 15th-place honors with his time of 25:15.9. Senior co-captain Teddy Meyers took home 45th place with a time of 26:01.8. Freshman Jonathan Sclafani placed 62nd, clocking a 26:33.7. Senior co-captain Shawn Duffy ran a 26:54.8 to place 73rd. The Hawk scorers were rounded out by a trio of sophomores. Justin Heinze, Michael Howanski, and Brendan Kearney placed 83rd (27:09.2), 90th (27:28.7), and 99th (27:50.4), respectively. The Hawks return to action on Saturday, October 14th, at the Lafayette Invitational in Easton, PA. Iona Invitational Results
