SCOTT PROPELLS HAWKS TO 9TH PLACE FINISH AT ARMORY INVITATIONAL

NEW YORK, NY- Senior James Scott set the pace for the Saint Joseph's men's track team by winning the 200-meter dash to lead the Hawks to a ninth place finish this past weekend at the Armory Invitational. Scott bested the 46-runner field with his time of 21.75 including competitors from Maryland, Syracuse, Columbia, Lafayette and Bucknell. Scott also placed fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.03, while teammate Marc Maccario placed 29th in the 200 (22.93). Sophomore Andy Craycraft placed sixth in the 800 meter "A" race with a time of 1:52.94, while senior Jim Smith placed third in the "B" race in a time of 1:54.65. Brian Rosetti (4:10.86) and Bill Hoffman (4:17.81) placed sixth and 10th in the mile respectively. Other performers for the Hawks included Tim Fisher, who placed 11th in the 3000 (8:28.23), and freshman newcomer Tm Curran placed in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.26. SJU next compete's on Saturday, February 16, at Atlantic 10 Championships in Rhode Island.
