SAVAGE NAMED ATLANTIC 10 PERFORMER OF THE WEEK; CRAYCRAFT EARNS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
PHILADELPHIA, PA -Senior Karl Savage has
been named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the
Week while teammate Andy Craycraft earns
Rookie of the Week for the week ending
Sunday, January 28, 2001.
At the Penn State Invitational Savage set a new
school record in the 3000 meters with a time of
8:13.87, tops in the Atlantic 10 this season. He
topped the old mark of 8:14.48, which he set in 1999.
Craycraft earns his third consecutive Rookie of the Week citation after
placing sixth in the 500 meters at the Penn State Invitational with a time
of 64.48, second in the Atlantic 10. He also ran the third leg of both the
4x400 and Distance Medley Relay teams, which placed 14th and 11th,
respectively.
