Seniors and Underclassmen Shine at Lafayette Invitational

EASTON, PA - Saint Joseph's earned five first-place finishes and finished third overall at the Lafayette Invitational on Friday. Sophomores Bobby Staten finished first in the 60 (6.21) with Quenton Boyer placing second (6.22). Seniors Andrew Thomas and Matt Petrocci both earned a first place finish, winning the 440y (50.73) and the 500m (1:07.04) respectively. The Hawks were able to seep the Mile race with Freshmen Justin Heinze (4:39.20) and Stephen Young (4:40.30) taking first and second and Sophomore Richard Ryan (4:43.60) placing third. Other notable performances came from Senior Joe Bieret placing third in the 440y (51.52) and freshman Justin McCarthy placing third (1:59.44) in the 880y. Saint Joseph's also finished in first place in the 4x440y. The Hawks scored 97 points for the day with fourteen events scored.
