MEN'S TENNIS HAS BEST-EVER SHOWING AT A-10S
MONROEVILLE, PA (4/10/04) -- The Hawk men's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to St. Bonaventure in the third-place match of the 2004 Atlantic 10 Championships but still made its best-ever showing at the conference championships with a fourth place finish. The performance bettered last year's fifth place showing. SJU drops to 9-9 with the loss.
Saint Joseph's dropped the doubles point despite a 8-0 win from sophomores Jimmy Holland and A.J. Garabedian. Holland was also a 6-1, 6-2 winner at #2 singles, as was classmate Antonio Aniello (2-6, 6-2, 6-4) at #6. But that was all SJU could muster in falling to SBU. Richmond defeated George Washington, 4-1, to win the Atlantic 10 Championship and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. #4 St. Bonaventure 4 #3 Saint Joseph's 2 Singles: Doubles:
