PHILADELPHIA (04/06/02) - Senior Pat Mulvaney posted a nailbitting 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 win over La Salle's Phil Cohen at #6 singles to help lift Saint Joseph's to a 4-3 win over the visiting Explorers on Saturday afternoon on Finnesey Courts. Mulvaney's win proved to be the team's third and tying point as freshmen Francisco Velazquez and Van Homer Pangilinan both won their singles matches at #2 and #3 respectively. SJU won the doubles point with Hawks' #1 pair of freshmen Velazquez and Pangilinan and #3 duo of Gary Wnek and Bob Capelli provided the SJU victory. The Hawks, 7-10, take on crosstown rival, Villanova, tomorrow.
