Velazquez and Pangilinan Fall at Penn Classic

PHILADELPHIA - Seniors Francisco Velazquez and Van Homer Pangilinan were both eliminated in the Round of 16 on Saturday at the Penn Classic held at the Levy Tennis Pavilion. The tournament marked the end of the fall season for the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team.

A pair of Penn players served to knock the Hawk seniors from the draw. The tournament's fourth seed in "A" Flight singles, Velazquez fell in straight sets to the Quaker's Tas Tobias, 6-4, 6-1. Pangilinan, meanwhile was stopped by UP's Joseph's Lok, the third-seed in the "B" Flight, 6-2, 6-1.
