MONROEVILLE, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team defeated La Salle, 4-0, on Saturday morning to secure a tie for ninth place at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship held at Club 4 Life.

The 10th-seeded Hawks got wins from seniors Lucho Perez-Abreu and Nick Tuxen as well as freshman Tommy Gates in singles play and cruised to victory in the doubles flights to secure the shutout over the 11th-seeded Explorers.

Saturday's match was the last for seniors Perez-Abreu, Tuxen, Matt Prusack and Michael Stauble, and all four earned a victory in at least one match. Stauble and Prusack combined for a 9-7 win in the first doubles flight, while Perez-Abreu teamed up with sophomore Peter Cognetti to take the second flight, 8-2.
