MERION STATION, Pa. - In their final match of the regular season, the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team routed Rider, 7-0, at the SJU Tennis Complex on Saturday. Seniors Michael Stauble, Matt Prusack, and Lucho Perez-Abreu all won matches in both singles and doubles, while senior captain Nick Tuxen was a straight sets winner in singles. In fact, no Hawk dropped more than two games during singles play, let alone a set. Stauble and Prusack combined for the 8-2 victory at number one singles while Stauble blanked Ryan Carpenter, 6-0, 6-0, in the top singles flight and Prusack won his first singles match of the season, 6-0, 6-2, over Chris Esposito at third singles. Perez-Abreu teamed with Peter Cognetti for an 8-1 drubbing in the second doubles flight and then went on to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Rob Olsen in sixth singles. Tuxen was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Drew Laverty at number four. The Hawks will now head to the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa., for the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship.
