PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team, ranked 65th in the nation, defeated cross-town foe Saint Joseph's, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon in the Levy Tennis Pavilion.

Penn got things started quickly, winning all three doubles matches to take the first point. David Lynn and Mikhail Bekker teamed up at No. 1 doubles to win, 8-6, over Francisco Velazquez and A.J. Garabedian. Tas Tobias and Joseph Lok won at No. 2 doubles, taking the match, 9-8(2), over Jimmy Holland and Antonio Aniello. At No. 3 doubles, Brandon O'Gara and Todd Lecher defeated the team of Chris Spencer and Van Homer Pangilinan, 9-8(6) to complete the Quaker sweep.

The Quakers also swept the singles matches for the victory. Lynn won at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1, over Velazquez and Bekker won in the second position, 6-1, 6-0, to give Penn the early edge. Justin Lavner won in the third slot, 6-3, 6-1, over Garabedian while Tobias defeated Aniello at No. 4, 6-1, 6-2, to secure the win for Penn. Lecher won in the fifth position, 6-2, 6-4, over Spencer to improve his singles record to 14-1 this spring. Craig Rubin won for Penn in the No. 6 spot, 6-4, 7-6(6).
