The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team lost a pair of matches this weekend, falling to conference foe Duquesne, 7-0, on Friday night, and to NJIT, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon.
Friday's contest was moved indoors to the Upper Dublin Sports Center due to low temperatures, and the venue change helped the Dukes as they earned the 7-0 victory in a hard-fought match.
SJU did earn a victory at number-one doubles, as seniors Michael Stauble and Matt Prusack were 8-4 winners, but the Dukes secured the doubles point with a victory in the tight third flight match.
Against the Highlanders, Stauble and Prusack won their number-one doubles match again, and senior Nick Tuxen and sophomore Peter Cognetti won at third and sixth singles, respectively, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks fell on Sunday, 5-2.
Tuxen took his match over Fraser Croad in straight sets, while Cognetti also made quick work of Dimitri Athans, notching a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Drexel.
