Hawks Pick Up Doubles Point, but Fall to Columbia, 6-1

NEW YORK, NY - A quick start helped Saint Joseph's sevure the doubles point, but Columbia swept the singles competition to defeat the Hawks at the Savitt Tennis Center, 6-1.

The Hawks, who forced the Lions to drop the doubles point for the first time this season, earned wins at first and second doubles. Seniors Jimmy Holland and Antonio Aniello were victors at No. 1 doubles 8-5 and Phil Bayliss and A.J. Garabedian on at No. 2, 9-8. Columbia's Mark Clemente and Jon Chan won at # 3 doubles 8-6 over SJU's Pat Adams and Chris Spencer.

The Lions stormed back and swept singles matches all in straight sets.
