Men's Tennis Falls to Villanova, 6-1
March 24, 2009
VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team went down to Villanova on Tuesday afternoon, falling by a 6-1 score. Senior captain Pat Adams led the way for the Hawks, earning the lone point for SJU at number-one singles. Adams defeated Alex Leeser in their number-one singles match, 7-5, 6-3. He also partnered with Matt Prusack to win at number-three doubles, 9-8 (7). Despite their recent success in doubles, the Hawks could not win the first point of the day on Tuesday. They did not go down without a fight, however, as the Wildcats won the top two flights by scores of 8-6 and 9-7. Singles play provided SJU with the point from Adams, but that was it as Villanova won flights two through six on its way to victory. The Hawks, now 7-6 for the spring, will head to New York this weekend for a match with Atlantic 10 foe Fordham on Saturday, March 28. Saint Joseph's Results
