Final Stats

BRONX, NY - Senior Francisco Velazquez battled Fordham's Mike Rosado for three tough sets and came away with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 victory at #1 singles to power the Hawk men's tennis team top a 7-0 win in a match played on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts.

The Hawks opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches, as Velazquez and Jimmy Holland defeated Rosado and Mike Misiti at #1 doubles, 8-3, A.J. Garabedian and Antonio Aniello defeated Peter Zipf and Phil Bednarczyk at #2 doubles, 8-0, and Chris Spencer and Van Homer Pangilinan were victorious over Ben Ehrman and Sean Kennedy at #3 doubles, 8-1.

In singles play, Velazquez dropped the second set to ROsado, 6-4, before coming back to win the third set, 6-4. SJU captured the remaining five singles matches in straight sets to easily secure the win.
