PHILADELPHIA - Senior Travis Gast was named to the 2009 Philadelphia Soccer Six All-Star team on Tuesday night. Announced at the annual banquet, Gast became the 34th SJU honoree as Saint Joseph's landed a player on the All-Star team for the 18th straight season.

Gast was an intricate part of the Hawks defense in his four years, starting 62 of 63 games played. Earlier this season he was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Stetson Soccer Classic.

Gast was not only the core of the Hawks defense but he was also a big contributor on offense as he compiled six career assists and scored one goal, totaling eight career points from the defensive position.

As a freshman Gast was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week in a three-point contribution to a win and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Philadelphia Soccer Classic.

La Salle's Ryan Richter was named 2009 Philadelphia Soccer Six Player of the Year, while Drexel and Temple were named Co-Champions of the Year.
