Baker Named to 2008 Philadelphia Soccer Seven All-Star Team

Dec. 2, 2008

PHILADELPHIA--Colin Baker (North Wales, Pa./La Salle College HS) was named to the Philadelphia Soccer Seven All-Start team on Tuesday night. Announced at the annual banquet, Baker became the 33rd SJU honoree as Saint Joseph's landed a player on the All-Start team for the 17th straight season.

Baker, the team's leading scorer in 2008, was the lone Hawk on the squad as Temple's J.T. Noone earned Player of the Year and Student-Athlete of the Year awards. Baker led the squad with six goals as Saint Joseph's went 5-8-2. Penn was named the team of the year by the league's coaches.

This is the second consecutive year Baker has earned a Soccer Seven end-of-year award as he was named the Freshman of the Year award in 2007. Last season Pat Duddy earned All-Star recognition and Michael McInaw was named to the squad the two previous years.
