PHILADELPHIA - The men's soccer team will celebrate Youth Soccer Month with Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer this September. The Hawks will face off against Rider on September 15 at Finnesey Field in a match that will be featured as part of the month-long celebration. Game time is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. The National Youth Soccer Month campaign celebrates ten years of recognizing the impact and importance that soccer plays in the lives of America's families, educating the public about the rewards and joys of playing youth soccer, and increasing awareness of the benefits of playing Youth Soccer in America. Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer has worked throughout Eastern Pennsylvania to promote and perpetuate the game of soccer to the area's youth since 1972. Through competitions, educational programs, workshops and coaching clinics, Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer currently impacts the lives of more than 130,000 youth soccer players. "We are really excited that EPYSA has chosen to include an SJU match in its celebration of National Youth Soccer month," said Saint Joseph's head coach Don D'Ambra. "It is a great experience for children who play soccer to aspire to attend college and play at the collegiate level and encourage them to come see our team play Rider University. I often emphasize to my players that they are very fortunate to be able to play at the highest level and that we should all embrace the fact that we are role models for young children. We have an obligation to give back to young players and help them with the things that we've learned along the way." For more information on Youth Soccer Month, click here.
