Andrew Kulinski Named A-10 Rookie of the Year

Kingston, RI (11/2/00) – St. Joseph's University freshman Andrew Kulinski was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year at the A-10 Awards banquet held in conjunction with the conference tournament. Kulinski, who set a new SJU freshman scoring record with 20 points on seven goals and six assists, was also named second team all-Atlantic 10. He becomes the first Hawk to win A-10 Rookie of the Year honors. Senior Matt Cox and junior Ryan Dougherty joined Kulinski on the A-10 second team. It was the first time since 1994 that SJU put three players on the all-Conference teams. The Hawks finished the year, 5-11-0, but look to be in great shape for the coming years. Only two starters, Cox and senior Erick Bodge, are lost to graduation, while a total of eight freshman all took turns in the starting lineup.
