Box Score

A Colin Baker overtime goal gave the Hawks their fourth conference win, defeating Xavier, 1-0. Baker's goal, assisted by Giacomo DiLisi and Michael McInaw came in the 100th minute on the first SJU shot in the extra frame.

Saint Joseph's bounced back in impressive fashion from their 4-1 loss at Dayton Friday night. Unlike Friday, the Hawk defense held its own under pressure and setting up the counterattack for the lone goal.

Xavier controlled a fair portion of the game, outshooting the Hawks 20-14 and holding an 8-2 advantage on corner kicks. In the overtime period, the Musketeers had two corners and four shots to the Hawks two shots. Despite that edge, the Hawks snatched a victory when McInaw and DiLisi set up Baker's team-leading fifth goal of the year with just eight second remaining in the first overtime period.

Bryan Benedict earned his third shutout of the season, all of them coming in Atlantic 10 play. He made six saves in the game.

SJU improves to 5-8-1 overall and 4-1-0 in the A-10. Xavier drops to 6-10-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the A-10.

The Hawks will travel next week to take on nationally-ranked Saint Louis Friday at 8:00 p.m. before heading to Charlotte for a Sunday afternoon game.
