Men's Soccer Falls to St. Bonaventure, 2-0

PHILADELPHIA - PHILADELPHIA- The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team fell to St. Bonaventure, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Finnesey Field. Saint Bonaventure scored 12 minutes into the first half when Sam Maheu crossed the ball from the left side to Brett Allen who one-touched the ball into the left corner of the net. The Bonnies went up by two at the 37:15 mark when Phil Corbi crossed the ball to the right side where Kevin Okapal chipped the ball over Hawks' keeper, Andrew D'Ottavi. The Bonnies held an 11-2 edge in shots over the Hawks in the first period with a 2-0 lead. The second half was evenly played as the Bonnies took seven shots while the Hawks got six shots off. Neither team was able to connect on any shots for a scoreless second period, giving St. Bonaventure the 2-0 win. D'Ottavi made five saves in the match for a season total of 94 saves, giving him a .718 save percentage. The Hawks play next on Friday at Fordham for a 7:00 p.m. match.
