Men's Soccer Defeated by Pittsburgh, 2-1, in Overtime

INDIANOLA, PA - Pittsburgh came from behind to defeat Saint Joseph's, 2-1, in overtime in men's soccer action Monday evening. The loss dropped the Hawks to 1-4 on the year, while the Panthers garnered their first win of the year to improve to 1-4-1. Freshman Greg Dusing put the Hawks on the board first when he scored the first goal of his career. Dusing finished a cross from Tom Johnson in front of the goal at 15:45. Pittsburgh tied the match just 10 minutes into the second half when Ryan Brode took a shot that was blocked by an SJU defender. Matt Langton followed in the rebound for the equalizer. The Panthers didn't waste time ending the match in the extra period when Matt Baker scored on a rebound off a Bryan Benedict save just 1:08 into overtime. The Hawks were outshot, 23-3, but Benedict tied his career-high with 11 saves. Saint Joseph's returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 22, when it visits local rival La Salle at 7 p.m.
