Villanova Downs Men's Soccer, 4-0, in Soccer Seven Matchup

PHILADELPHIA - Villanova scored two first half goals and added two more in the second half to defeat Saint Joseph's, 4-0, in a Philadelphia Soccer Seven match at the VU Soccer Complex this afternoon.

Sophomore forward Mike Seamon paced the Wildcats with two goals for their fourth win in a row.

Villanova capitalized after a number of long balls at 24:14, when Joe Taylor scored off a cross. Two minutes later, Chris Quinn fed Seamon, who scored with a low shot past Hawk keeper Bryan Benedict at 26:27.

Villanova maintained that lead until the 76th minute when Seamon struck again, while Quinn rounded out the scoring with an unassisted goal at 78:29.

The Hawks are now 1-2 on the year and host Rider in the home opener on Saturday, September 15 at 7 p.m.
