Position:
Administrative Assistant

Experience:
5th Season at SJU

Working behind the scenes for the fifth straight year as the administrative assistant of the men's soccer team is SJU Hall of Famer Jack Ruggero. One of only three men to coach the SJU men's soccer program in its 46-year varsity existence, Ruggero guided the Hawks to 53 wins over an 11-year stint from 1976 through 1986.

A standout defensive back, the 1969 SJU grad earned regional All-America honors as a junior and senior (1967-68). In November of 1999, he was the only men's soccer player and one of 20 inducted into the inaugural class of the Saint Joseph's Athletic Hall of Fame.

Ruggero previously served as an assistant coach under Jack Dunn before taking over the program in 1976. As an assistant, he helped guide the team to two NCAA Tournament appearances, and coached current SJU mentor Tom Turner during that time.

He resides with his wife, Joyce, in Philadelphia.
