Gianni Grimaldi, a highly experienced coach and seasoned recruiter, is in his first season with the SJU men's soccer program.

Grimaldi brings more than 30 years of collegiate coaching and recruiting experience to the Hawk program. Most recently the head coach of the Burlington County (N.J.) College men's soccer team, Grimaldi has worked at every collegiate level, and at schools such as Princeton, Howard, American, Florida Institute of Technology, Salem International, IUP, Georgetown and Catholic University. He helped four teams reach the NCAA and NAIA Tournaments in his career.

He is the first North American to coach professionally in Italy, with the Perugia and Ponsacco clubs, helping them qualify for Italy's National Cup Playoffs. Grimaldi possesses three "A" coaching licenses, from the United States, Italy and Europe.

Grimaldi is presently the director/coach of the Grimaldi Italian Soccer Academy (GISA) in Italy and Virginia where he organizes soccer tours to Italy, and a soccer study abroad program to Florence University of Arts in Tuscany.

A 1977 Rutgers graduate, captain and 4-year starter,Grimaldi also played professionally at Napoli in Serie A. He earned his master's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and presently resides in Mount Laurel, N.J.
