Men's Rowing Excited about New Recruits

Sept. 26, 2005

PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off the most successful season in program history, the Saint Joseph's men's rowing team has been bolstered by arguably the most talented recruiting class in recent memory. Third-year freshman coach Dan Goettner, a 2001 SJU grad, will be charged with integrating the newcomers into the program.

Featuring student-athletes from some of the premier programs in the East and Midwest, Hawk head coach Drew Hill is excited about the possibilities. "We have 20 rowers coming in with experience, many of which have medaled at Nationals and Stotesbury Cup" relates Hill. "It is a testament to our team and Saint Joseph's University that all of these very talented rowers decided to make Hawk Hill their home for the next four years". "The most exciting thing about this recruit class is that a majority of them were leaders on their High School squads".
