Bonner and Cawley Return to SJU as Men's Rowing Assistant Coaches

PHILADELPHIA - A pair of Saint Joseph's graduates, Ryan Bonner and Ray Cawley, have been named assistant men's rowing coaches at SJU, it was announced by head coach Drew Hill.

Bonner, a native of Ocean View, NJ, is a 2002 SJU graduate. He competed for the Hawks in the Varsity 8, helping the crew win gold medals at both the Jesuit Invitational and the Atlantic 10 Invitational in 1999-00, and silver medals at the same meets in 2000-01. A graduate of Holy Spirit High School, he medaled in numerous races there, including the state meet, the Stotesbury Regatta and National Regatta. He was invited to the Junior National Camp in 1997.

Cawley graduated from Saint Joseph's in 2005. He rowed for the Freshman Heavyweight 8 his first year, and then spent the next three years as a member of the Varsity 8. Cawley, a native of Philadelphia and graduate of La Salle High School, was part of the Hawk teams that captured the Dad Vail points trophy in both 2003 and 2005. He also helped the Varsity 4+ that placed fourth in the nation at the IRA Championships in 2004.
