HAWK MEN CLAIM PAIR OF GOLDS AT JESUIT INVITATIONAL
PHILADELPHIA (3/21/04) - The Saint Joseph's men's rowing team had a great opening day at the Jesuit Invitational on the Cooper River, winning the
Freshman 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 over formidable foes Georgetown, Boston College and Holy Cross. The men's V8 fought a tough race but Georgetown took control in the lst 500 meters to best the Hawks with BC
finishing 2nd followed closely by SJU.
On Sunday, SJU swept Lehigh for the second straight year in duel competition. Conditions were difficult with a steady 15mph wind, gusting to 25mph. But the Hawks displayed a lot of grit to push through the 2000m course, besting Lehigh in all five events.
Next up for the Hawks is the Murphy Cup next Saturday on the Schuylkill River.
