A 2001 graduate of SJU and member of the 1999 Henley Crew, Dan Goettner is in his fifth season as assistant Coach with the SJU men's rowing team. In his first two seasons with the Hawks he helped lead the Freshman Lightweight 8 to back-to-back gold medals at the Dad Vail Regatta.

Goettner began rowing as a freshmen at La Salle High School where he was a two-time member of the school's top varsity boat. He was recruited to St. Joseph's and made the Varsity Heavyweight 8 for the Hawks all four seasons. Goettner's best season on Hawk Hill came in his sophomore year when he sat seven seat in the Heavyweight 8 that took Dad Vail Silver and earned a trip to participate in the Temple Cup at the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta. In his senior year at SJU Goettner was named co-captain and earned honors as a scholar athlete.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities Goettner works for Sander Supply, a family owned business that sells bakery and restaurant equipment in the city of Philadelphia.
