MEN'S LAX SHOOTS FOR MAAC CHAMPIONSHIP ON SUNDAY
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (05/03/03) - The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team (6-8), fresh off a 12-11 overtime upset over Providence, will take on first-seeded Mount St. Mary's (9-7) on Sunday at Marist College. Face-off is set for 1:30 p.m. and all the action can be heard on sjuhawks.com by clicking here.
For SJU, it is the first appearance in the conference title game since 2000, when the Hawks brought home their first and only league championship. MSM appeared in last year's final, losing to Manhattan. On the line is an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament - if the Hawks can pull off another upset, it will be the first non-basketball NCAA bid since the men's soccer team did the trick in 1972.
