HAWKS TOPPLE SIENA, 15-6
LOUDONVILLE, NY (4/21/01) - St. Joseph's scored three
goals in a one-minute span just before halftime en route to
a 16-5 victory over Siena Saturday afternoon.
Randy McNeill, the nation's leading goal scorer (40, 3.63
goals per game), scored six goals and dished out two
assists to lead the Hawks (4-8, 4-3 MAAC) while Mike
Pagliaro added two goals and two assists. McNeill also
became the all-time leader in goals scored in the contest,
tallying his 116th career goal to pass Chris McIsaac (114,
1993-97).
In all, 10 different St. Joe's players notched a point. It was
SJU's fourth win in the last six games after starting the
season 0-6.
Siena (0-9, 0-5 MAAC) was led by Thomas Nally, who
scored twice. The team's other leading scorer Kevin
McCabe added two assists.
The Hawks outshot the Saints 49-24. Nick Leopard recorded 11 saves for SJU. SJU
travels to Canisius for a Sunday game at 11 a.m.
