Cole, Crisafulli and McColough Named to MAAC All-Academic Team
May 7, 2007 Edison, N.J. - The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team had three players honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference officials announced this weekend. Chris Cole, Paul Crisafulli and Alex McColough were among the 46 student athletes to be selected to the 2007 MAAC Men's Lacrosse All-Academic Team. Cole, a sophomore defenseman, saw action in all 16 games this season, causing four turnovers and scooping up 17 groundballs. Cole is majoring in Business. Crisafulli, an elementary education major, was recently selected to represent Saint Joseph's at the NCAA National Leadership Conference this May. The conference will be held in Orlando, FL and involves 325 student-athletes from across the country. The sophomore defenseman caused four turnovers this season and grabbed nine groundballs. McColough has started all but one game this season, recording 16 goals and six assists for 22 points. The graduate student midfielder also grabbed 14 groundballs while causing one turnover. McColough is studying for his MBA. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Canisius College led all schools with nine student-athletes making the team. Mount St. Mary's and Siena each had seven athletes, followed by Manhattan and Virginia Military Institute, each with five. Four student-athletes earned spots on the team from Marist and Wagner. Saint Joseph's student-athletes claimed three spots on the team, followed by Providence with two.
