Men's Lacrosse Places Seven on 2009 MAAC All-Academic Team

May 1, 2009

EDISON, N.J.--The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team had seven student-athletes named to the 2009 MAAC All-Academic Team announced by the league on Thursday. In all, 56 student-athletes make up the squad, while SJU accounted for the fourth-most in the conference.

Seniors Chris Cole, Paul Crisafulli and John Harmonay led the group of Hawk athletes, all of whom are on pace to graduate on May 16. Cole is a management major while Crisafulli and Harmonay major in elementary/special education and finance, respectively. All three have been three-time selections for the MAAC All-Academic Team.

Joining the trio of seniors are junior Peter Slowik and a trio of sophomores in Keith Belson, Devin Daly and Pat Kenville. Slowik majors in accounting and Belson in the social sciences. Daly is a management major and Kenville a business major.

The MAAC Lacrosse League All-Academic Team consists of student-athletes that have completed two semesters at their institution with a 3.2 or better on a 4.0 grade point average scale. Marist placed the most athletes on the squad with 11 athletes altogether.

Saint Joseph's wrapped up its season at 6-9 overall, 4-4 in the MAAC. The Hawks didn't receive any postseason All-Conference awards for the first time since 2007 despite three All-MAAC representatives from a year ago returning to the squad this season.
