Men's Lacrosse Defeated by Navy, 10-3

Annapolis, MD - The Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team lost their second straight game of the season, falling to #9 Navy, 10-3, in Annapolis, Saturday, February, 17th. Mike O'Neill, Peter Slowik and Alex Lopes combined for the goals with Steve O'Brien lending two assists and Alex McColough adding one. SJU took its only lead of the game at the 8:12 mark in the second period when McColough fed Lopes for the go-ahead goal, making the score 2-1. The Hawks were out-shot 47-18 for the day, but managed to grab 30 ground balls and complete 17 out of 23 clear attempts. Sophomore goalkeeper Erik Hotaling made 12 saves for the game. The loss leaves SJU with a 0-2 record while the Midshipmen move up to 1-0. Saint Joseph's returns to action Saturday, March 3rd in its first home game of the season. The Hawks will face off against the Drexel Dragons at 12:00 pm on Finnesey Field.
