LINKSTERS DELIVER TOP FINISH AT DELAWARE INVITATIONAL

MIDDLETOWN, DE (4/25/04) - Keyed by an eighth place finish from sophomore Sean Seese, the Saint Joseph's men's golf team delivered its best finish of the spring placing fourth in the 10 team field at the University of Delaware's Scotty Duncan Memorial Golf Tournament at the 7,003-yard, par 71 Back Creek Golf Club. Seese was solid carding a 75 and a78 for a two-day total of 153 (+11) to place eighth overall. Freshman Ryan McCarty (77, 80 - 157) also turned in a top-20 finish, placing 14th. Senior Brian McDermott (77, 82 - 159) and Jim Robertson (80, 79 - 159) tied for 21st. Senior Tom Spano (82, 82 - 164) rounded out the SJU quintet by finishing 29th. Temple, led by individual champion Pat O'Neill, took the team title with a two-day, 36-hole total of 602. Delaware was 12 strokes off in second place at 614 followed by Longwood (VA), SJU, and Villanova.
