SAINT JOSEPH'S FINISHES 16TH AT NAVY INVITATIONAL

ANNAPOLIS, MD (4/04/04) - The Saint Joseph's University golf team shot a two-round 634 (312-322) to place sixteenth at the 25th annual Navy Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the par-71, 6,611-yard U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club. Sophomore Sean Seese carded a 152 (74, 78) over the two days and was SJU's top individual finisher, placing 16th. Seese was followed by senior Brian McDermott. McDermott tied for 39th overall after shooting 77, 80 - 157. Two freshmen and a senior rounded out SJU's top five, including Ryan McCarty (83, 79 - 162) who placed 70th, Bill Devlin (80, 85 - 165) was 88th and Jim Robertson (81, 87 - 168) finished 99th. Winning the tournament was Johnson & Wales (295-308-603) who jumped from fourth to first behind a final-round 308 to beat out Loyola (Md.) and Towson who finished six strokes behind.
