STEWART TOP FINISHER AS LINKSTERS PLACE SEVENTH AT NAVY INVITE
ANNAPOLIS, MD (9/14/03) - Sophomore Billy Stewart carded a one-under par 141 to place sixth and lead the Saint Joseph's golf team to a seventh place team finish at the Navy Fall Golf Invitational.
Stewart shot an even par 71 on the first day and then tallied a one-under 70 on Day two. Classmate Sean Seese, just one stroke behind the leaders in third place on Saturday after notching a 69, shot 76 on Sunday and finished tied for 14th overall.
Rounding out SJU's five man contingent were seniors Brian McDermott (80, 75 -155) and Tom Spano (76, 84 - 160) respectively, and freshman Chris Reedman (76, 80 - 156).
Tied for fifth place after scoring a 292 on the first day of competition, SJU struggled on day two carding a 301.
Next up, SJU competes at the James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, Va., September 20-21.
